This vertiglide was the toughest to put on, but it looks great and should help to insulate the large patio doors. Hopefully it'll pay for itself after a few winters.

QUINOA (pronounced "keen-wah"). Yummy, oh-so nutritous & healthy, easy & quick to cook, & very versatile. Quinoa was a staple of the ancient Incas, who called it "the mother grain." It contains more protein than any other grain; has all eight essential amino acids, is higher in unsaturated fats & lower in carbohydrates than most grains, & it provides a rich & balanced source of vital nutrients. Needless to say.......I'll be experimenting in the kitchen.

My new window blinds - YEAH! JC Penny's had a great sale - I got these at about 70% off plus I had another 15% off coupon. I hope this will help with insulation and save on heating costs. Now I have to call the installer to get them up..........very exciting.
A couple weekends ago I made some bread - it turned out pretty good except it was too salty. The next loaf was better...........but it still needs some perfecting. Jess & Matt - yes it took me this long to try out the recipe in the cast iron pot - obviously the baking talents live on Upton.

It's great to start the day by looking out your window and being greeted by fresh snow - what a beautiful sight. THEN......you realize; it's you, the shovel and the enormous driveway! Oh buckets!
